“The here and now is all we have, and if we play it right it’s all we’ll need.” – Ann Richards
Day 20 – Embracing the Timeless
CENTERING THOUGHT
Eternity is here and now.
SANSKRIT MANTRA
Om Hreem (Pure transparent awareness is my essential nature.)
Message of the Day
To embrace our timeless nature, we don’t have to go anywhere or do anything. All we need is to allow awareness to shift from externally directed attention to a restful inward directed attention that is always the background of experience. When awareness steps into its timeless eternal nature, it is stepping into the present moment; it is coming home to its true self.
Journal Questions
- The experience of being timeless can be triggered by all kinds of things. It’s those instances when time has passed, but you were not aware of it because you were so in the moment. Write down three, thinking about whatever makes you feel inspired, light, buoyant, and carefree. Now journal about how you can increase these experiences.
- Timelessness means that every moment is a moment of possibility and opportunity. Often, we look at the things in our life as givens – our relationships, our families, our possessions, our talents. It is only when we look at these blessings with new eyes that we get to experience timelessness. Where are places in your life where you may be taking your blessings for granted?
- Considering your responses to Question 2, how can you encourage those “timeless” experiences more often? What are some shifts you want to commit to in order to make better choices in where you spend your time and energy?
- Reflect further on your experience today.
