Happy Father’s Day! It’s a day to celebrate all of the phenomenal….Dad’s we love. What can you give the man in your life that kissed away all your booboos and loves you through all of our phases?
Today I have a pie that Dad will love. It’s rich and creamy, layered with cookies, brownies, and pudding. There is utterly nothing left out of this pie that Dad probably loves for desert. When you have it all in one desert, then it makes a perfect Father’s Day treat for Dad. Serve it or gift it for Dad to eat all by himself. Either way, it will be gone before you know it.
To make this pie however, it may take longer than the time it may require for Dad to consume all of it. Unless you choose to use some of the pre-made ingredients, like the brownies and cookies, each layer has to be made separately and will tale up some time. However, it tastes worthwhile and it’s worth the effort for dad.
Ingredients
FOR THE CRUST
Chocolate chip cookie dough (make it from scratch or use pre-made for 2 dozen cookies)
FOR THE PUDDING
2/3 packet instant chocolate pudding mix
1 1/2 cup whole milk
1 package Oreo cookies
FOR THE WHIPPED CREAM
8 oz. Cool Whip
1/3 packet instant chocolate pudding mix
1/2 cup crumbled brownie pieces (either store-bought or leftover homemade ones)
chocolate sauce
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Make the crust. Grease the bottom and sides of a 9" pie plate. Cover with chocolate chip cookie dough and bake for 16 to 18 minutes.
- Shortly after taking it out of the oven, use a measuring cup to press down dough so it forms a gooey crust. Place in the refrigerator to cool.
- Make the pudding: Whisk 2/3 packet of pudding mix with milk. Refrigerate 5 minutes to set, then pour into cooled cookie crust. Cover pudding with a layer of Oreo cookies.
- Make the whipped cream: In another bowl, mix Cool Whip with remaining 1/3 packet pudding mix. Fold in crumbled brownies, and pour the mixture on top of the pie.
- Garnish with more brownie pieces.
- Refrigerate for 4 hours before serving.
