I love to bring readers stories of not so typical places and things to do. Although I have been acquainted with Belmont Shore for many years and lived there in my younger days, I have kept it a bit of a secret for myself – never really sharing stories about it.
Belmont Shore is a trendy corner of Long Beach, CA tucked away in an exclusive beach community. It’s most famous for 2nd Street packed with shops and restaurants that are usually filled up with regulars almost seven days a week. This little community hosts events regularly throughout the year drawing in locals and visitors.
12th Annual Belmont Shore Chocolate Festival
Today they had their 12th Annual Belmont Shore Chocolate Festival. A variety of Belmont Shore businesses served up a sweet selection of various chocolate treats and other sweets with over 25 restaurants participating. Your sweet tooth was bound to be satisfied here.
Along with tempting treats, there were several fun contests to enter. For those really wanting to indulge, in the afternoon there was a Hof’s Hut Chocolate Pie Eating Contest to compete to see who could scarf down an individual size chocolate cream pie the fastest. If you wanted to show off your own talents when it comes to chocolate, you could enter a Homemade Chocolate Dessert Contest.
It’s not too late to participate in the festivities because some contests are still going on.
