We just got hit by another giant storm this weekend, and I’m pretty sure we will soon have no worries over the California drought. Cold wet days cause us cabin fever and that requires for hearty warm sustenance to keep us mollified. Good old oatmeal is the best for morning breakfasts and the awesome people at D’vash Date Nectar sent me just what I need to lace my oatmeal with the essence of warmth.
They sent me these wonderful little samples of pure Date Nectar which I can pour into pretty much anything I want to naturally sweeten and enliven. The California desert is famous for its dates, in fact, the Coachella Valley is considered the “Date Capital of the World” as palm groves thrive there. Since the 1800’s date farms out there have bestowed Californians with sweet dates and it’s quite a cultural experience visiting the desert farms when it comes to dates. The farms as well as the many well-known hotels in the Palm Springs area offer date tastings. Did you know that there are many varieties of dates?
For those of us suffering from cabin fever and when the cold is simply becoming tiresome, date nectar from the dessert offers us a mirage of warmer weather and the sunny outdoors. I made myself Date Nut Oatmeal to warm myself from the inside out. Bite of toasty nuts with each spoonful of date sweetened oatmeal with D’vash Date Nectar is just like biting into a Date Nut Cookie during the holidays.
D’vash Date Nectar is awesome because you can have it on hand all year long to add the flavor of dates to your recipes without having to hunt down dates at specialty stores. It’s particularly great for if you live someplace where you can’t just go buy dates at your local grocer.
