Last night we treated ourselves to an elegant wine desert or shall I say adult slushy. Cabernet-Sauvignon Ice is probably one of InterCourses’ more elegant and romantic recipes. Such a simple recipe to a beautiful little treat!
Process
The aroma of Cabernet Sauvignon is pungent with hints of black currant & grass that punches you in the nose. I will warn you that as it heats with your sugar the aroma can be tantalizing. Combine half cup of water with 3/4 cup Cab wine, and half cup of sugar. Bring it to boil and reduce the heat to simmer for r minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 3/4 cup white grape juice and 1/3 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice. Let the mixture cool then pour into a divided ice cube tray. Cover with plastic wrap to avoid other flavors for the freezer entering your syrup. Freeze until solid, it takes a little over 4 hours. Then place the cubes in small batches in a food processor and process until just slushy. Serve garnished with champagne grapes and mint sprigs.
Results
The taste is seductive. The variety of flavors, aromas and textures titillate your senses in oh so many special ways. The full body strong flavor of the wine is diluted into a softer and sweeter flavor, but still carries a punch. The hubby was utterly surprised by this offering after dinner and it held its own. To him it was an unimaginable creation on my part. I have to admit that this was much like the S’mores, fun, because like children we were enjoying spoonfuls of ice, yet with the knowledge that this was for the adult tongue only.
We may have been more playful because of the ability of red wine to relax you. Besides relaxing you faster, red wine contains resveratrol, an antioxidant that helps boost blood flow and improves circulation before and during intercourse. When it comes to using wines as an aphrodisiac, it’s best to use strong musky reds that are likely to replicate the male pheromone.
An adult slushy to relax, epic!
Wow this could give my night way more romantic. I was planning a date with my partner on saturday and i might aswell just do it at home with this. Plus some other menu i seen from here. Love the way you chose the right mix to tickle both drinkers of this.
