For a quick getaway to play in the snow, Fraizer Park is only a 2 hour drive from Los Angeles. At an elevation of 4,639 feet, there is plenty of snow this winter. It is very small community in Kern County, so you won’t get the crowds that you get at Big Bear and can still enjoy the mountains in its natural state with sprinkles of homes and farm houses. You will even see cattle and horses on your drive up the mountain. I find the drive up this mountain much more peaceful.
