I know that I committed this month to mangoes as a part of my Monsoon Mangoes project. However, the 4th of July is not about mangoes, so I’m taking a day off from mangoes to bring you something special for this Independence Day celebration.
Most of us are out in the sun during the 4th of July. We enjoy a good holiday BBQ and hang out by the pool or on the beach. Staying cool is a big part of this day and keeping your fresh fruits vibrant and soothing is important while you are celebrating. Nobody wants soggy fruit that has been sitting out in the sun for too long. How about frozen berries for a treat? They make a simple red white and blue presentation and are quite refreshing to eat while hanging in the summer sun. Here is how to make 4th of July frosted berries.
Ingredients
¼ cup sugar
1 cup raspberries
1 cup blueberries
Method
- Add granulated sugar into a pie pan or shallow dish.
- Place berries on top and gently toss and roll berries until they are covered in sugar.
- Transfer dish to freezer. Freeze for at least 4 hours.
Notes
You can use any berries of your choice.
