For true French pastries that go back to the origins of a prolific writer who produced works in almost every literary form including plays, poetry, novels and essays, Louis-Ernest Ladurée, you must try Ladurée. Ladurée is a French luxury bakery and sweets maker house created in 1862.
From its origins the pastry shop has dawned chubby cherubs dressed as pastry cooks painted on the ceiling. The interior of the premises was painted in the same celadon color as the façade. To this day Ladurée shops even in the United States boasts its history with the same décor. The bakery’s rise to fame came in 1930 when the double-decker, sticking two macaron shells together with a creamy ganache as filling was introduced. Queen Catherine de’ Medici had brought the macaron to France from Italy in the 16th century, and the recipe for the biscuit had hardly varied over the years, but the amounts of the ingredients used and the appearance of the end product were up to the individual bakers. Ladurée is one of the world’s best-known premier sellers of the double-decker macaron.
Laduree Champs Elysées was created in 1997 and decorated with the same atmosphere of the original Laduree Royale. Very unique this shop represents the French Art de Vivre. I love the chocolate eclairs, but I thought that mini bouche de noel for the holidays were gorgeous.
