This Valentine’s Day keep your honey warm with a beautifully red hued cup of hot cocoa. Serve Red Velvet Hot Cocoa as desert or with dessert, either way it is an inspirational beverage for Valentine’s Day. It is quick and easy to make, yet the red color of your hot chocolate will put a smile on everyone’s face, turning it into an extraordinary Valentine’s Day drink for adults and children alike. I think it’s perfect to whip up as a treat for the kids on Valentine’s Day or to cozy up with a special someone.
Red Velvet Hot Cocoa
Ingredients
4 cups whole milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
10 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate, coarsely chopped (I used mini chocolate chips)
2 teaspoons red food color
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Method
Heat milk and sugar in medium saucepan. Bring to simmer on medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar.
Remove from heat and stir in chocolate with wire whisk until melted. Stir in food color and vanilla. Pour into serving cups.
Tip: Serve with marshmallows and Cream Cheese Whipped Cream.
