Shedding The Weight: Mind, Body & Soul – Day 15 Transformation Is About Your Personal Story

We have arrived at the final week of this Mind Body Meditation. Hopefully you have begun to shed the weighted burdens with new perspectives on habits. This week we will create space and a new narrative within to crystalize positive change.

We are all living a personal story, and every story has ups and downs, low points and high points. But what’s important is the theme that structures and guides our story.

When your story has positive, life-supporting themes, you have found the key to transformation. Changing your theme is more effective than trying to fix yourself one issue at a time. The most positive themes include lightness, worthiness, self-acceptance, evolution, and love.

Your theme should be aimed at making you feel good every day. It should open new possibilities. It should give you optimism that you are being renewed.

“You write your life story by the choices you make.” ― Helen Mirren

Transformation Is About Your Personal Story

Today’s Centering Thought is: My story is about nurturing my life in every way.
Today’s Mantra: Om Durgayay Namah (I revere the nurturing energy of life.)

Center yourself to begin a quiet solitude of mind and spirit with the thought “My story is about nurturing my life in every way.” Then begin to meditate by focusing on your breath and repeating the mantra: Om Durgayay Namah. This mantra nourishes all aspects of your life like a divine mother. Take deep breaths and with each breathe feel your mind body and spirit open just a little more to this affirmation. Each time your mind wanders come back by repeating this mantra and hold the meaning behind it: I revere the nurturing energy of life. Simply meditate for 20 minutes.

Today’s Journal Activities:

1. Looking around the room or outside the window, write down five new things you see that you haven’t noticed before. For example, you might notice how the sun glints off the leaves of the trees, the shadows cast by pictures on the wall, or the faint smells in the room.

2. Thinking about your life story, compose a few lines about how two themes – love and light – have been entwined in it.

3. What new theme do you want to unfold in your life story? Is it intimacy, creativity, joy, security, success? Putting your attention on this theme alone, describe how it could manifest in the coming weeks.

4. Reflect further on your experience today.

As we shed our burdens, open space is created for something new. It’s time to create new stories in this space. If you don’t love your story the next chapter will be the same as before. You need a new perspective on the story you will now start to create.

Look outside the window and instead of seeing what you always see. Consciously look for five different things – perhaps new cars on the street or a blooming flower that was not there before. Wonder creates new intentions and you need to open yourself to seeing the world differently.
