Sunday night I treated the hubby to a sweet desert that I could make for just one. I may be strictly off the sugar and on my own healthy path for the New Year, but there is no reason why he can’t have a treat once in a while. So, what better way to make an individual serving of desert than a mug cake? I did not labor in the kitchen to bake a whole cake that I could not indulge in myself. Instead, this literally took one minute of prep and one minute of cooking time. It comes out soft and fluffy. You can dig into it write away while it’s still warm and no extra plates or utensils required. This is so cute, that I think it will also make a lovely Valentine’s Day desert in a pretty red mug. You can even make it romantic by sharing a mug together.
Here is the recipe:
Soft Chocolate Mug Cake
Ingredients
1 Microwaveable Mug (I used a large mug, to leave room for ice cream)
1 Egg
¼ Cup Powdered Sugar
2 Tablespoon of Cocoa Powder
1 Scoop Ice Cream (optional)
Method
Put all the ingredients into a cup and whisk it together until mixed well. Place the mug in the microwave and cook for 1 minute. Your cake will be done. Top with a scoop of ice cream and enjoy.
I recently attended a party and shared this recipe with the hostess. Check out what she thought at Totally Talented Tuesday.
